Your greatest decision!

Do you find it difficult to make important decisions? This story should help you not to make a mistake with the most important decision of your life!

Jesus was soon to make a very important decision that He knew would lead to His death! He first "went out into the hills and spent the night praying to God. 1*. He wanted to know and do His Father's will. 2*.

If you and I always wanted to do what is pleasing to God some decisions would be easier to make! Anything that would involve things like stealing, dishonesty, hatred, coveting, using images and statues in worship, or adultery, would clearly not be something God would want you to do! God has forbidden all such things. 3*.

Jesus sought God's help as He faced into a very difficult decision. "When morning came" He was ready to make His choice. "He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also designated apostles."

Many might think Jesus' choice of apostles was wrong and foolish! None of them was a religious leader; several were fishermen, one was a tax-collector and a few were very patriotic Israelites! Some of these men had real doubts about Jesus! 4*. One of them Jesus knew to be "a devil" 5*. and knew he would become the traitor!

How kind and wonderful Jesus was to pick these ordinary people, even the evil Judas, and to show that He loved and cared for them. You see, it would not be because Jesus hadn't loved Judas that Judas would betray Him. Jesus loves all people. He loves YOU, no matter what kind of person you are: but He hates your sin! He wants you to know that He loves you and that He is able and willing to forgive your sins and make you pleasing and acceptable to God. 6*.

Although Judas was shown such love and grace by Jesus he never did let Jesus change his life. He pretended he loved Jesus, but his behaviour proved that he did not. When Judas made his most important decision in life - his decision about what to do with Jesus - he did not try to find out if it was going to please God! He only wanted to please the priests of his religion! He was not willing to please God by trusting Jesus Christ as his Priest and Saviour. 7*.

Despite the great privileges Judas received from Jesus he made a very wrong choice when he rejected Jesus; and he ended up in a lost eternity. 8*. Jesus had this to say about him - "It would be better for him if he had not been born"! 9*.

You must make your greatest decision in life! You must decide what you will do about Jesus. To be sure to make the right decision you must turn to God and discover from the Holy Bible what He wants you to do about His Son Jesus Christ. It will become very clear to you what you should do: you should, in faith, accept Jesus as your only Priest and trust and obey Him always. 10*.

Read in Luke chapter 6, verses 12-16, about Jesus wanting to obey His Father in His decisions.
