There's no substitute!

It can sometimes be very difficult to know whether an article is real or imitation? If it is a bunch of flowers it may not be important to really know, but if it is a €50 note it is very important to be sure you have the real thing!

Jesus Christ warned about some imitations to watch out for, and to be very sure to avoid! Millions of people have ignored His warning and are suffering endless punishment as a result! Already great damage could have been done to you, but even if it has, it is not too late for you to do something about it.

Sometimes people have become so content with what is false that they won’t even check to make sure that they have the real thing! They just go on hoping it will be alright in the end, but it won’t be! They will suffer endless punishment! (John 3:16-19.)

Jesus warned of the terrible danger of being fooled by imitation of the Messiah – imitations of Christ! He said, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, claiming, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many.” (Matthew 24:4-5.)

But, how can we know the real Christ?

Jesus of Nazareth claimed to be the Christ, but was He genuine? Why should we believe Him?

God Himself clearly identified His Son for us over and over again. (2nd Peter 1:17. Matthew 16:16-17.) Many didn’t want to believe Him, or believe in Him, and tried their best to find fault with His life, but without success. The way He lived agreed with all that God said about Him.

But here was the greatest test to prove He was genuine: He had said He would arise from the dead after three days and three nights in the grave! Three full days had passed since Jesus’ crucifixion. “The disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews... Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ After He had said this, He showed them His hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.” (verses 19-20.)

Jesus was indeed the genuine Christ! - and His resurrection was another wonderful proof!

God had made it very clear that there’s no substitute for Jesus Christ – no man can take His place - so don't you let anyone take the place of Christ for you. If you let yourself be fooled into trusting someone else as your priest and saviour you will be endlessly punished! Only Jesus Christ Himself is able to forgive your sins, and save you from the endless punishment of Hell.

The risen Lord Jesus Christ gave His followers reliable proof of who He was, and of what He had done for them. Put your trust in Jesus Christ by faith today and you will be sure of forgiveness of your sins, and acceptance with God.

Read of Jesus' convincing evidence in John’s Gospel chapter 20, verses 19-20.
