God already knows!

At election times the different candidates all say that they hope to gain many votes, but very often their forecasts are wrong!

Here is the true story of someone who never ever got it wrong! His forecasts were always exactly right; and He has even forecast how you will vote in a very important issue! (Ephesians 1:3-14.)

A great crowd was gathering at Jerusalem, and Jesus was on His way there too. The crowd "took palm branches and went out to meet Him, shouting, 'Hosanna! Blessed is He, who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the King of Israel!'

"Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it." (verses 12-14.)

Over 500 years before this happened, Jesus, through His prophet Zechariah, had forecast this event in these words: "Do not be afraid, 0 Daughter of Zion; see, your King is coming, seated on a donkey's colt." (verse 15. Zechariah 9:9. Psalm 118:25-26.)

These people were not being compelled to do this, nor had they been put through a rehearsal! (verse 16.) How had God known hundreds of years in advance the exact way these people were going to respond?

He knew because He is God, and knows all things. (Psalm 139:1-16!)

Jesus had made another forecast that was being proved accurate too! He had told His followers that His visit to Jerusalem would result in the religious leaders having Him put to death. (Matthew 16:21.) This didn't seem likely to happen, as He was being given such a wonderful reception. Yet we discover that the chief priests and religious leaders were secretly plotting at that same time to have Jesus destroyed! (verses 9-11, 19. John 11:53, 57.)

Jesus already knew the exact details of their plans, even although they themselves didn't know yet how they were going to be able to destroy Him! For His forecast to come true He would not have to tell them what to do, or make them do anything against their will. Jesus, being God, knew what they would think and do. (John 2:25.)

Surely the influence Jesus would have upon them should only cause them to love and respect Him! His words and actions had shown Him to be the Son of God, the promised Saviour of the world. Why would the religious people reject Him?

A much more important question for YOU to answer is this - "Are you rejecting Jesus the Son of God as your Saviour, or insulting Him by even thinking you can ask someone else to forgive your sins?" Make sure you are trusting in the right Priest today!

Don't be tempted to say you have no choice in the matter because God knows what you will do! Of course God already knows whether you are going to foolishly reject His Son, or wisely trust in Jesus as your only Priest and Saviour. BUT THE CHOICE IS YOURS, AND YOU WILL HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF IF YOU REFUSE TO TRUST IN JESUS CHRIST. (John 3:16-19, 36.)
